IUPAC Name
guanidine;hydrobromide
Synonyms
gABr; guanidinium Bromide
Application
Guanidine HydroBromide serves a dual-purpose as both an effective antimicrobial agent and a stabilizer for 2D perovskite structures. When used in low concentrations, it exhibits excellent bactericidal and fungicidal properties, making it a potent disinfectant. Additionally, its guanidinium bromide form facilitates the formation of stable perovskite layers. This is achieved through two mechanisms: van der Waals interactions between guanidinium cations and hydrogen-halogen bonding between guanidinium cations and the halide ions of different layers. These interactions lead to a reduced defect density within the perovskite film and an extended carrier lifetime, enhancing its properties through hydrogen-bonding effects provided by the guanidinium salt.
