Description
Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT), an alloy of cadmium telluride and zinc telluride (CdTe/ZnTe), is a crystalline direct bandgap (1.4-2.2 eV) semiconductor material. CZT exhibits transparency in the mid-infrared range and has the lowest thermal conductivity of all semiconductors; applications include gamma radiation detectors and sensors, nuclear imaging, photovoltaic solar cells, electro-optics, and infrared lasers.
